It depends on what's actually wrong, and we won't guess over the phone. A running toilet and a backed-up main line are very different jobs. We give you the price up front once we've seen it, so there are no surprises after the work is done.

Often it can be repaired — a thermocouple, thermostat, heating element, or gas valve is a much smaller job than a replacement. But if the tank itself is leaking, or the unit is well past its expected life and rusting through, replacing it is the honest answer. We'll tell you which one you're looking at rather than selling you a new heater by default.

The tell is usually multiple fixtures backing up at the same time — a toilet that gurgles when the washer drains, or water coming up in a shower when you flush. A single slow sink is normally a local clog. Repeated backups across the house point to the main line, and that needs a proper cleaning rather than plunging.

Always. We protect the work area before we start, and we run water, test everything, and leave the space clean before we call the job finished. Tidy work is part of the price, not an extra.
